The basics

What Pody is, who it's for and where it lives.

Pody is a marketplace for genuine laptops, phones and tablets, sold at market price. Anyone can open an account and buy outright.

Students get one more option on top: Buy Now, Pay Later. Pay part of the price today and spread the rest over up to 270 days, with no interest.

Yes. Anyone can open an account, browse the catalogue and buy any device outright at market price. Paying in instalments is the one feature reserved for verified students.

No. Pody Network Limited is not a bank and does not take deposits. We sell devices, and verified students can pay for them in instalments.

Every plan is subject to our due diligence, and a limit is never guaranteed.

Yes. Everything happens in the Pody app on iOS and Android, and there's no web checkout. Search for “Pody” in the App Store or Play Store and check that the publisher reads Pody Network before you install.

Tap Create account, enter your email and choose a password, then type in the code we email you. That's the whole account.

Use a personal email you'll keep. A school address that expires at graduation is a poor choice, because your email is how you recover your account.

Eligibility & verification

What unlocks paying later, and what we never ask for.

Any student currently enrolled at a partner institution. Verify your student status and complete KYC, and Pody Finance appears as a payment option at checkout. Tap Try it to walk through the steps.

No. We don't ask what you earn. We look at what you've already proven: your enrolment, your academic standing and your record on Pody. There's no proof of income and no guarantor.

For KYC: a government-issued ID, a short liveness check and address verification.

For student verification: your institution, course, matriculation number, institutional email, enrolment date, expected graduation date and a photo of your student ID card.

Usually one business day. Photograph your ID card in good light with all four corners visible, and make sure the name on it matches your account. Cropped or glare-heavy photos are the most common reason a review is sent back.

Paying later is credit, and Nigerian regulation requires us to know who you are before we approve a limit. Completing KYC also gets you your own account number for bank top-ups.

Email hello@pody.network with your institution's name and we'll look at adding it. You can still buy any device outright in the meantime.

Paying with Pody

Downpayments, plans and what it really costs.

It's the payment method you choose at checkout to split a purchase into instalments, much like picking a card. It isn't a separate app or account: verified students simply see it alongside the other options.

From 20% of the order total, paid from your wallet at checkout. You can pay more upfront, which leaves a smaller balance and smaller instalments.

You choose 1, 3, 6 or 9 months (up to 270 days) at checkout, and whether to pay daily, weekly or monthly. The balance is split evenly, and the dates are fixed once you confirm.

No. There's no interest, no hidden fees and no markup. You pay the device's market price, split across your plan, so a longer plan doesn't cost you more.

Yes, that's what Pody Finance is for. Pay part of the price upfront, then spread the rest into daily, weekly or monthly instalments that you choose at checkout.

No. You can hold one active instalment plan. Finish it before starting another. Completing a plan is also the strongest boost your credit score can get.

Yes, at any time and with no penalty. Paying early also counts in your favour on your Pody Credit Score.

It only shows once your student verification and KYC are approved. If they are, check that your wallet covers the downpayment, that the order is within your limit, and that you have no other active plan.

Credit score & limit

The number behind your limit, and what moves it.

Up to ₦1,000,000, depending on your Pody Credit Score, which is driven by your academic standing and your repayment record on Pody. Your limit is an offer, not a target: borrow for the device you actually need.

A number from 0 to 1000 that sums up your repayment record and academic standing. It sets your spending limit. You'll find it in the Finance tab, shown as a dial with the band it falls into.

How the score works

Raise your score. Pay every instalment on time, finish your first plan in full, clear balances early when you can and keep your academic records up to date.

There's no application form, and support can't raise a limit on request.

A late instalment lowers it, but it doesn't lock your account, and on-time payments afterwards pull it back up. Repeatedly missed instalments lower it sharply.

A default is reported and kept for seven years under the Credit Reporting Act 2017, so it can follow you to other lenders.

No, it's a scam. Pody staff will never offer to raise your limit, change your score or clear a late payment for money. Report it to hello@pody.network.

Wallet & repayments

Funding your wallet and staying on schedule.

Tap Top up on the Home screen. Transfer to your personal Pody account number from any bank app, or pay instantly in the app with Flutterwave. Both credit the same balance.

Everything is paid from your wallet, inside the app. When an instalment falls due it's deducted from your wallet automatically, so keep it funded. Open Finance to see your next amount and date.

We'll notify you and work with you to find a solution. A late instalment lowers your credit score, and missing payments consistently can affect your access to Pody.

Top up at least a day before each due date, so a slow bank transfer never makes you late.

No. It's generated once for your account and stays yours. Never send money to an account number someone gives you outside the app, even if they say they're from Pody.

Yes. Open Profile, then Get Statement, and export the transactions for any date range. Every entry in the Transactions tab also shows a reference you can quote to support.

Devices, delivery & returns

What you can buy and what happens after you order.

Laptops, smartphones and tablets, plus the accessories that go with them: devices that support your studies and work.

Yes. We buy directly from globally recognised manufacturers and their authorised distributors, not from open marketplaces. That's how we keep prices at market rate.

Brand-new units arrive sealed with the full manufacturer warranty. Pre-owned and refurbished units have their condition and cover stated on the listing.

Once your downpayment clears, the order moves to fulfilment. You can follow it from the Orders tab in the app, and review the device once it's delivered.

Yes, within the window stated in your agreement, if the device is faulty, damaged on arrival or not what you ordered. It must come back in its original condition, with the packaging and all accessories.

No. Returns cover faults, damage and wrong items. A working device you've changed your mind about doesn't qualify.

A refund cancels the instalment plan on that order. A replacement keeps the plan in place.

Account & security

Sign-in, PINs, referrals and closing your account.

On the login screen, tap Forgot password and enter your email. Type in the code we send you and choose a new password. Every other signed-in session is ended straight away.

Open Profile, then Security, then PIN, and choose to reset it. We email you a one-time code to confirm the change. Your PIN is what approves money leaving your wallet, so never share it.

Turn on two-factor authentication under Profile, then Security, so a one-time code is emailed to you at every sign-in.

Pody will never ask for your password, PIN, a one-time code or a screen share.

Open Profile, then Referral, to copy your code or share your invite link. When a friend joins through it, a reward is credited based on the campaign running at the time, so amounts vary.

From inside the app: Profile, then Account, then Delete Account. Any outstanding repayments must be settled first. Deletion is immediate and permanent, so export your statement before you start.

Nigerian law requires some records to outlive your account: identity data for 5 years, transactions for 6, credit and repayment records for 7, academic data for 3 years after closure and support messages for 2.
